Job Description
What does it mean to be an Orr Fellow?
Orr Fellows work in a variety of job functions, ranging from Marketing to Engineering to Consulting, Sales, and many more. Fellows are matched with industries of all types and partner with companies from small start-ups to enterprise-level global organizations. In addition to full-time employment, Orr Fellows develop new skills and participate in a unique curriculum designed to challenge, develop and propel them toward a career of excellence. Outside of their 9 to 5 job, Orr Fellows participate in different forms of development training, such as personal finance workshops, speaker series, non-profit consulting projects, and pitch competitions. In addition, Fellows benefit from being a part of a community of 150+ peers and have access to a robust network of over 400+ Alumni who have participated in and completed the program.
The Process
How do I become a Fellow?
We begin seeking talented college seniors every August and make Orr Fellow offers in November. For information about our process, click here.
Below are the steps of our process to make note of:
~ Spark Hire Video Interview
~ fORRums – Selected candidates will be asked to attend 1 virtual evening event to learn more about Orr Fellowship and get to know current Fellows
~Board Member Interviews – Interview with a member of Orr’s Executive Board, Executive Management, or an Orr Fellowship Alum.
~Reception on the Circle – Networking event in Indianapolis, IN
~Finalist Day – Finalists will interview with 4-5 companies and receive offers that same day. This event takes place in Indianapolis, IN.

The Qualifications
What does it take to be a Fellow?
All candidates must meet the minimum qualifications to be considered for Orr Fellowship:
~Cumulative 3.2 GPA or higher (no rounding). Orr Fellowship will request unofficial transcripts during our recruitment process.
~Strong interest in leadership or entrepreneurship
~Demonstrated leadership and/or impactful experiences (work study, family obligations, mission trips, running a business, volunteerism, etc.)
~An expected graduation of either December 2023 or May 2024
~Authorization to work in the US, without the need of sponsorship or work visa at any point now or in the future. Unfortunately at this time, Orr Fellowship can not accept students that require sponsorship or visa now or in the future. The way Orr Fellowship’s recruitment and placement process works, there is no guarantee that a student needing sponsorship will be matched with a company that will be able to provide it.
Compensation
What is the salary for Orr Fellows?
In order to ensure an equal playing field at time of hire, Orr Fellowship sets the salary guidelines for Fellows.
~Year 1: Each Fellow shall receive an annual starting salary of $51,000
~Year 2: Assuming a positive performance review, a Fellow’s salary should increase to $54,000 for the second year. There may be opportunities for Fellows to receive additional compensation for exceptional performance after completing one-full year, but any and all decisions are at the discretion of the partner company and are not required nor should be expected.
~Commission/Bonuses: Companies may award bonuses, commission, or incentive-based pay at their discretion at any point in the two-year Fellowship.
