Orr Fellowship is excited to welcome the newest member of its executive team, Lauren Daniel. While she officially joined Orr in August, her connection to the organization and to the Indianapolis community began long before stepping into her new role.
Lauren is a 2022 Orr alumna who graduated from Marian University with a degree in psychology. During her time in the program, she served as the Indyfluencer Network Manager for Indy Chamber’s Life in Indy initiative, where she continued to develop her passion for community building and talent development.This extended into her contribution to the fellowship, too. She served as Marian School Lead twice, managed the Indy Events calendar, and received the Community Award at the culmination of her two years.
One of her main responsibilities was connecting prospective residents with locals who could share firsthand insights into living and working in Central Indiana. Through those conversations, her own appreciation for Indianapolis and its surrounding communities continued to grow. Outside of work, Lauren was equally intentional about building connections by networking across different circles, investing in the people and spaces she valued, and making herself a friend and familiar face to those around her.
It makes sense, then, that those same strengths now play such a big role in her position as Orr’s Talent & Community Manager. Lauren hopes to be the kind of person anyone can reach out to, whether that means having a friendly face to attend a new event with, trying a new coffee shop together, or simply having someone willing to help however she can.
After graduating from Orr, Lauren continued building her career around community and connection. She remained with the Indy Chamber as the Community Manager for Life in Indy, where she managed social media partnerships with local content creators and played a key role in planning Fast Forward, a summer experience that introduces college students to Central Indiana through its people, places, culture, and career opportunities. That experience led to her next opportunity with Hummingbirds, a female-founded martech platform that connects consumer brands with hyperlocal content creators.
While working in professional services and customer success roles at Hummingbirds, Lauren continued developing relationships throughout Indianapolis and helping people find meaningful ways to connect and contribute to the community. Although her roles and organizations changed, her focus on bringing people together and helping them feel connected to the place they call home remained the same.
That brings Lauren back to Orr Fellowship, where this part of her story began. Now, she gets to continue that mission by empowering current and future Fellows to become the next generation of business leaders. Whether she is working with Fellows in the Indy or Evansville chapter, we know the energy and passion she brings to every community will make a difference for Orr.
Lauren shared two things she hopes current and future Fellows will take with them. To current Fellows: don’t hesitate to reach out! And to future Fellows: she cannot wait to see how you tap into both the broader Indianapolis network and the Orr Fellowship community. One of the coolest parts of Orr is that you get to be part of both.
