Eric Goodman has been involved with entrepreneurs and the management of both start-ups and high-growth companies for his entire career. As a Partner at Ice Miller LLP, he works with a wide spectrum of clients to negotiate and execute complex business transactions. He offers practical solutions to business problems faced by established companies and entrepreneurs including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buy-outs, and private placements.
Specifically, Eric assists entrepreneurial clients with a choice of entity issues, private placement offerings, capital structures, commercial contracts, employment agreements, equity incentive plans, structuring and negotiating acquisitions, and other legal and business matters typically encountered in start-up and high growth scenarios. Eric also frequently works with private equity funds and other institutional investors to lead both buy-side and sell-side leveraged buy-outs, recapitalizations and general M&A. Eric is a frequent speaker on Capital Formation and related securities laws such as crowdfunding and initial coin offerings. In addition to joining Orr Fellowship’s Board of Directors in 2018, Eric is also a current Board Member of TechPoint and a past Chairman of the Board of The Techpoint Foundation for Youth, an organization devoted to providing access to STEM learning opportunities for Indiana’s undeserved youth.
Eric earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor in 2003 with a focus in Economics. He received his juris doctor, cum laude, from Indiana University Maurer School of Law and his Master of Business Administration from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Management in 2008.
