Karyn Smitson serves the greatest group of young professionals in Indiana as a leader with many hats such as mentor, visionary, planner, organizational continuity officer, communications facilitator, recruiter, stakeholder supporter, financial steward, and opportunity provider. She believes careful listening, solid communication, and making hard work fun are the foundations of this organization that truly inspires its members to long-term success.
Before joining Orr, Karyn held roles such as Director of Market Development, Director of Marketing, Public Relations & Communications, Merchandise Buyer, Media Buyer, and freelance writer at a variety of companies, including ad agencies, The Indianapolis Star, and The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.
A proud Hoosier, Karyn graduated from Indiana University with a BA in English after growing up in Columbus, IN.
Jen Agnew is honored every day to play a part in the transformational experience that is Orr Fellowship. What fuels Jen is a passion for community engagement and college graduate empowerment. Her background is in the field of higher education, where she has worked for various colleges and universities, including Butler University.
Jen has robust experience in curriculum development, leadership programming, event planning, training, diversity/social justice/inclusion initiatives, and relationship building/advising.
Originally from Omaha, NE, she earned her M.A. in Student Affairs Administration & Higher Education from Ball State University and B.S. degrees in Speech Communication and Theatre Performance from the University of Nebraska.
