After studying Business Analytics and Entrepreneurship at Indiana University, Moshe found his way to Indianapolis as an Orr Fellow working at LDI, Ltd. If you have the pleasure of getting to know Moshe, you will find that he is a fun-loving guy with a quirky sense of humor, who is always wearing a smile. However, if you haven’t had the pleasure of getting to know Moshe in person, it’s easy to get a feel for his personality through his description of a day in his life.
Every weekday morning Moshe wakes up at the early hour of 5:30 am, his Philips Hue lights turn on, and he reflects, “I begin to regret every decision I’ve made in my life, specifically just the one to set my lights to turn on at 5:30 am.” In the midst of this regret, he snoozes the alarm and promptly goes back to sleep. His second alarm goes off at 6:45 am and he’s ready to head out the door by 7:25 am. By 8, Moshe has reached the downtown office of LDI and he’s ready to get his work day started. He’s usually one of the first people into the office in the mornings, so he slacks off for an entire five minutes! By the time other employees start trickling in around 8:05, Moshe decides it’s time to get down to business. Moshe’s current project is transforming the sales data of an LDI subsidiary to improve their internal sales processes.
By the time ten o’clock rolls around, it’s officially snack time for Moshe. He shared that “LDI has a great snack bar and their fridge is fully stocked with LaCroix.” After spending a few months as Orr Fellows, many of us have learned that “having LaCroix in your office is like winning the lottery – if the only prize was sparkling water.”
Noon is lunchtime. Moshe’s thoughts on lunchtime are the perfect display of his day-to-day musings:
“Who shall I eat with? Myself? Always an option. But today I think I’ll have lunch with some Orr Fellows who work in my building. I’ll call it Lacy Lunch. Has a good ring to it. Lacy Lunch. And great alliteration. Lacy Lunch. I’m sure the other Fellows will agree.”
Throughout his afternoon at work, Moshe will spend his time working through sales projections with his manager, triple checking the accuracy of his projects, and enjoying the sweet feeling of relief when his work hits the accuracy targets he consistently aims for. And just as that afternoon lull hits, Moshe claims that the CEO of LDI strolls down the hall singing “Sweet Child O’ Mine” as a little pick me up…
By 5:30 pm, the work day is done. It’s time to go home and choose between the delicious dinner options of a peanut butter sandwich or ramen noodles – his favorites! Moshe finishes the night off in the best way possible, by sitting down for some ice cream, cocoa, and TV with his roommates.
By 11 pm, it’s bedtime and the Philips Hue alarm is set again for the 5:30 am wakeup call and Moshe is ready to take on another day filled with LaCroix, solid sales projections, and random outbreaks of Guns and Roses.
