Fellow Development
Orr Fellows understand the importance of continuous personal and professional development. That’s why they participate in a variety of events to enhance their skills and expand their horizons.
Each year, the Fellows travel to the nationally renowned Edward Lowe Foundation in Cassapolis, Michigan, where they engage in an intense two-day leadership module and establish strategic goals for the organization.
The Fellows also recently teamed up with Butler University’s MBA program to take part in a simulated “Gateway Experience” where they formed teams to analyze a local organization’s business model and to offer suggestions for improvement. The experience provided a preview of the kind of MBA-level work many of the Fellows will pursue down the road.
Fellows will often pitch business ideas to one another, take part in exciting initiatives such as Startup Weekend, and attend interesting events hosted by Smaller Indiana to fuel their entrepreneurial ideas.
